UFC superstar Conor McGregor is not interested in pursuing an acting career despite enjoying filming scenes with Jake Gyllenhaal last year.

McGregor is set to feature in Amazon Prime’s reimaging of the 1980s classic Road House which will star Gyllenhaal playing fictional UFC fighter Elwood Dalton.

The one-time Oscar nominee recently took over UFC 285 to film scenes for his movie that is set to be released later this year on the popular streaming service.

McGregor enjoyed his time filming with Gyllenhaal and says the Hollywood star helped him successfully navigate his first experience on a movie set.

He told the Daily Mail: “Great man. Great guy. He's very patient with me, helpful. We shot some good stuff for the movie and can't wait to see it come to fruition.”

Despite bonding with Gyllenhaal, the former dual-weight UFC champion is not keen on starring in more movies due to the immense amount of work that goes into them.

McGregor said on The MMA Hour: “It was tough. It was very, very tough. Very long days. What it's actually done for me, which I’m happy with, is it made me feel like everything else is easy.

"Right now, what I’m doing, I’m doing a lot of work. The Ultimate Fighter is a lot of work. Even training camp and all the rest of it. All of that pales in comparison to the work that it takes to make a movie.

"That took me back, to be honest because I was not anticipating the amount of work it would take. It’s active! There’s full fight scenes.

"I’m doing the stunts, jumping through the air, throwing guys over bars and smashing bottles. I don’t want to give away too much but we do some magic. I’m in the ocean jumping off speed boats and it was a crazy one.

"You’re doing this for 15 or 16 hours a day and then you go home and you’re up in four hours or five f***ing hours.

"It was tough. Am I eager to get back into it? No, not necessarily. I’m eager to get back to fight and compete.

“Are they pushing for me for me to go back? Yes, I have an option, for sure.”

After finishing filming the latest Ultimate Fighter season, McGregor will now begin preparing for his first fight since he suffered a gruesome leg injury at UFC 264 in July 2021.

The Irishman will take on Michael Chandler later this year and hopes a victory will be enough to earn him a shot at the winner of Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman’s UFC 286 trilogy fight.
