Jack and Jack are a pop-rap duo based in Los Angeles, California consisting of Jack Johnson (22, rap) and Jack Gilinsky (22, lead vocals). The two “good friends” are on their Good Friends Are Nice Tour and they just stopped in Boston, MA, where CelebMix had the chance to catch them perform at the Paradise Rock Club.

The duo got started back in 2013 when they started posting Vines and got attention by posting short comedy videos on the social media platform. Since then, they have released endless catchy tunes and jams. They just released their debut album, A Good Friend Is Nice, this past January. Their album captures their sound perfectly, with maybe one filler song, all the others have potentials of being singles such as “Lotta Love,” “Day Dreaming” and “Barcelona.”

The day of the show consisted of all these great songs being performed by the duo and their past songs that were the reason fans fell in love with their music such as “Wild Life” and more classics that fans love. Speaking of the fans, there were so many fans there, making it a sold out show proving that Jack and Jack are indeed becoming the next big thing in music.

Jack and Jack took the stage around 9PM opening with their song “Promise Me,” which Gilinsky showed off his high vocals. They went onto perform their songs with energy such as “Pose,” “Closure,” their tropical song “Barcelona” and “Stay With Me.” They also performed a medley of their songs that fans first fell in love with at the beginning such as “Wild Life.” After that they continued with performing songs such as “Beg” and even a cover of Billie Eilish’s “When The Party’s Over,” which they executed extremely well. Going on they performed their hit song “No One Compares To You,” which for sure got the crowd moving seeing how it’s a major dance/club tune. They performed two fan favorites off the album “Lotta Love” and “Day Dreaming” then closed their set with their Jonas Blue collaboration “Rise.” They came back out to perform the song that got them on the charts, “2 Cigarettes.”

Overall, between the styles that Jack and Jack has and their energy the concert was amazing, even if you’re struggling with a sickness, it gets you in a good mood.
