Taro Daniel’s tennis career and news

At Yokohama in November 2012, on the ATP Challenger Tour, he made the semifinals and reached his 1st Challenger final at the Yeongwol in November 2013.

He made the quarterfinals of the Chile Open 2014, later gaining revenge over Bellucci and beating eighth seed Federico Delbonis.

Daniel qualified for the US Open 2014 to make his Grand Slam main-draw tournament debut, losing to Milos Raonic in the 1st round. World Group Play-offs against Colombia at Davis Cup 2015, he won the first Davis Cup match of his tennis career, beating Alejandro Falla. He competed in the Wimbledon Championships 2016, losing in the first round to Juan Mónaco.

Daniel reached the 2nd round of the US Open 2017 where he lost to Rafael Nadal in four sets.

In March 2018, at Indian Wells, Daniel defeated Cameron Norrie and then former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Daniel made it to the third round for the first time, beating Tomás Barrios and former finalist Andy Murray in a grand slam tournament Australian Open 2022.
